First pass at texturing the volcano.

And a render test of the smoke. Not sure why it starts flickering at one point, and I think the plume of secondary black smoke needs to move faster, so those are what I'm going to be fixing next.

Volcano Project: Smoke Tests

Now that I'm all graduated and stuff, I've found myself with some free time when I'm not looking for work, so I've picked my Volcano project back up.

So here we have some smoke tests. One of some motion, one playing with form.

First up:

Simple particle system built in PFlow to create the shape and motion of the smoke column.

And secondly:

Five different, simple smoke texture maps assigned randomly to particles in the system, with multi-pass motion blur added via 3ds Max's camera.

Birds!
